Voice
Support for How You Sound, Speak, and Communicate
Your voice is a key part of how you express yourself. Whether you use it professionally, socially, or in daily conversation, changes in how your voice sounds or feels can be frustrating and isolating. Some voice conditions develop gradually, while others appear after illness, injury, or periods of heavy voice use. No matter the cause, your voice deserves careful attention and thoughtful evaluation.
At the Align Voice & Throat Institute, we take the time to understand your voice concerns and goals. We use high-definition videostroboscopy to see how the vocal folds move during speech, which allows us to identify subtle changes in muscle function, tissue vibration, or closure. From there, we develop a personalized treatment plan designed to restore clarity, comfort, and confidence in your voice.
Common voice conditions we evaluate and treat include:
- Vocal fold paralysis or weakness (paresis)
- Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP)
- Laryngeal cancer evaluation and coordination of care
- Muscle tension dysphonia
- Vocal fold polyps, cysts, nodules, and granulomas
- Laryngeal web and sulcus vocalis
- Age-related voice changes (presbyphonia)
- Chronic hoarseness or vocal fatigue
- Voice changes related to gender affirmation
We also care for individuals whose professional lives depend on the voice, such as singers, teachers, public speakers, clergy, and performers. Treatment may include medical management, voice therapy through a trusted speech-language pathology partner, surgical intervention when needed, or in-office injections such as Botox or augmentation to support vocal fold closure and sound quality.
Our approach is collaborative, supportive, and guided by your needs. The goal is not just to treat the condition, but to help you feel more at home in your voice.
